Product Management

Learn how to add, edit, and import your products into LinkWrangler.

Adding a Product

To add a single product, navigate to the Products dashboard and click the "Add New Product" button in the top right corner.

You will need to provide at least a Name and a valid GTIN (Global Trade Item Number).

Product Data Fields

Understanding your product data helps you get the most out of LinkWrangler's rules and reporting features.

Core Identity

  • Name: The display name of your product (e.g., "Organic Skin Cream 50ml").
  • GTIN: The 14-digit Global Trade Item Number. This is the unique identifier used in barcodes and by Google. Per the GS1 Digital Link URI Syntax Standard, GTINs must be exactly 14 digits long. If you enter an 8, 12, or 13-digit GTIN, the system will automatically pad it with leading zeroes for you.
  • SKU: (Optional) Your internal Stock Keeping Unit code. Useful for matching data with your ERP or eCommerce platform.

Classification & Marketing

  • Category: Group products for bulk rules or reporting (e.g., "Skincare", "Beverages").
  • Brand Name: Useful if you manage multiple brands under one account.
  • Description (Short): A brief marketing blurb. This can be displayed on landing pages.
  • Video URL: A link to a promotional video (YouTube/Vimeo) for the "Product Experience" module.
  • Image URL: A link to a product image (e.g. JPG/PNG). Displayed in the dashboard and available for dynamic rules.
  • Product URL: A fallback destination URL used for dynamic redirects. This allows one rule to handle redirects for your entire catalog.

Pricing & Status

  • MSRP: Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. Used for value-based redirect logic.
  • Status: Set whether a product is active or inactive.
  • Release Date: Tracking for product launches.

Tags

Use tags to group products for specific rules. For example, tag products as "summer-collection" or "limited-edition".

Bulk Import via CSV

You can import up to 50 products at a time using a CSV file. This is the fastest way to set up a new catalog.

Step 1: Download Template

Start by downloading our standardized CSV template. It includes headers for all supported fields, including tags and status.

Download CSV Template

Step 2: Prepare Your Data

  • Do not change the header row.
  • GTINs must be unique. Duplicate GTINs in the file or existing in the database will cause that row to fail.
  • Tags can be provided as a comma-separated list (e.g., "sale, new"). Any new tags will be automatically created.
  • Ensure the file is saved in .csv format.
  • Keep the file size under 50 rows per upload to ensure smooth processing.

Step 3: Upload

Click the "Import Products" button on the Products page, select your file, and click "Upload & Import". The system will process the file line-by-line and provide a report of successful and failed imports.
