Profile Management & Security
Learn how to manage your user profile, enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), and secure your account.
Accessing Your Profile
You can access your profile settings at any time by clicking the user icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard and selecting Profile.
The profile area allows you to update your personal details, manage security settings, and view recent login activity.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your LinkWrangler account. In addition to your password, you will need to provide a time-sensitive code from an authenticator app to log in.
Step 1: Install an Authenticator App
Before enabling 2FA, you need an authenticator app on your smartphone. We recommend:
- Google Authenticator (Android / iOS)
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Twilio Authy
Step 2: Enable 2FA
- Navigate to your Profile.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Click the blue Enable 2FA button.
- A QR code will appear on the screen. Open your authenticator app and select "Add Account" or "Scan QR Code".
- Scan the code displayed on your screen.
- Your app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code into the input field on LinkWrangler to verify the connection.
Backup Codes
After successfully enabling 2FA, you will be given a set of Backup Codes.
Important: Save these codes in a secure place (like a password manager). If you lose your phone or access to your authenticator app, these codes are the only way to recover access to your account.
You can view the number of remaining codes in the Security tab. Each code can only be used once. If you run low on codes, you can click Generate New Backup Codes to invalidate the old ones and get a fresh set.
Logging In
When you log in with 2FA enabled:
- Enter your email and password as usual.
- You will be prompted to enter a 6-digit code. Open your authenticator app to find the current code for LinkWrangler.
- If you do not have your phone, click "Use a backup code" and enter one of your saved recovery codes.
Disabling 2FA
To turn off 2FA, go to the Security tab in your profile and click the red Disable 2FA button. You will be asked to confirm this action. We highly recommend keeping 2FA enabled for your security.
Password & Login History
The Security tab also allows you to change your password and view recent login activity. Reviewing your login history regularly helps you spot any unauthorized access attempts.
